You would not believe the bullshit Americans are fighting now on this front. Since 2015, we can't use any gift cards outside of the US. If I want to make an international credit card donation, I have to call the credit card company and demand that they process the payment - at the same time I am trying to make it. Sometimes a fraud alert is also kicked off simultaneously, requiring me to 'unblock' my credit card.
The GFEs* do NOT want us spreading any wealth outside US borders... and especially not to other members of the fight back.

In other words, this web site accepts your retail gift cards sort of as if they're cash. You provide the card number(s) to the intermediary, and that's your balance from which to make any payments you want elsewhere. I don't know if it works internationally, but at least it doesn't have to be linked to any personal information.
It seemed to work well, last time I checked several years ago, but I can't remember the name and I honestly don't even know if they're still in business.

Well, the problem is HOW they use the digital ID. I have mine for nearly 20 years now because if you work with people over the internet, its nice to know with whom you are working, if you really are the person you pretend to be, think NDA. But i use this ID only for emails.
There should be an option to just deliver the data needed, if they want to know your age, they should only be able to read your age, and of course they should only read it, not store it.
And before we start something like that "they" should write decent and safe software, so that your data is not lying on an unprotected server (yes, i am talking about you, Meta!).
